About

Hello!

I’m Christine N. Rifkin!

I’m experienced in many writing genres including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, newswriting, technical writing, playwriting and screenwriting.

My favorite subgenre is horror…in all forms.

My Story

I’ve been writing for as long as I remember. When I was a kid, my mom gifted me her electronic typewriter and I used it almost every day to make newsletters for the family. I spent many class periods writing short stories and drawing comics for my friends instead of paying attention, but I guess all that pays off in the end.

I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2013 with a B.A. in English and Southern New Hampshire University in 2021 with an M.A. in English & Creative Writing with an emphasis on Screenwriting. I’ve read, edited, beta read, and proofread a million different stories and novels in my time as a writer/editor and I never get tired of it.

Some of the most rewarding work I’ve done has been in the field of technical writing for both large and small companies, where I take complicated language and turn it into something entertaining, eye-catching, and easy to read. It’s boring work for some, but when I know I can help someone do their job better, it’s worth it.

I am an avid short story writer. My story “Alternates” was chosen as an Honorable Mention in Killer Shorts Season 5, and my story “Gelt Trip” was published in the Black Hare Press anthology Eerie Christmas 3. Available on Amazon here

My short screenplay “Right Hand Man” was also the winner of Best Short Screenplay at the 2023 Freak Show Horror Film Festival in Orlando, FL. A few pictures of the event are below.

I’m always interested in new opportunities and collaborations so please feel free to reach out to me via the email below or Instagram!
